Over 55 Years Growing Strong in the Caribbean

HISTORY

In 1960, the Babun brothers— Jose, Teofilo, and Abraham—fled Cuba’s communism and settled with their families in Miami leaving their successful lumber and cement businesses behind them. Three years later, the Babuns launched a liner service on the Miami River with only a single break-bulk ship.

Today, after decades of dedicated and intense work, Antillean Marine Shipping Corporation is the largest shipping line operating out of the Miami River. With facilities and operations in three countries, we pride ourselves with offering a one-of-a-kind, personalized service to our customers. Antillean is proud to be a family-owned business. Come ship with us today, we’ll treat you like family!

LEADERSHIP

SARA C. BABUN, President and CEO

Sara is the eldest daughter of Jose Babun-Selman, the youngest of the founding brothers. Sara began her journey at Antillean when she was just a teenager as an assistant traffic coordinator for Haiti. Throughout the years, she has worked in virtually every department of the company, which provided her with vast amounts of hands-on experience. In 1993, after her aunt Adela Babun stepped down as president of the company, Sara was appointed President and CEO and has been leading the company ever since.
