Antillean Marine christens Babun Express in celebration of the most recent addition to its fleet of vessels serving its cargo shipping flagship location on the Miami River. Ms. Babun adds; “As a key transit point, the Miami River represents a renewed opportunity for Antillean Marine cargo shipping throughout the Caribbean and the region.” “Miami’s working river represents generations of trade and commerce, as well as, vessel repair and maintenance and marinas. We intend on continuing the working river legacy and the economic diversity the Miami River marine industry provides our community.”
The most recent Biscayne Bay Economic Study, South Florida Water Management District, reports the Miami River marine industries generated a $2.9 billion dollar output, $1.5 billion in income, 24,000 related jobs and $136 million in tax revenues to the State of Florida.
